About Us

Welcome to Save the Octopus.org! Our organization was founded by Isla Abrams, a dedicated high school student from North Allegheny High School in Pennsylvania and a three-time all-conference field hockey player. Isla developed a deep concern for the well-being and treatment of octopuses after watching a thought-provoking documentary. Recognizing their incredible intelligence and emotional sensitivity, Isla felt compelled to take action and educate the public about the plight of these remarkable creatures.

Save the Octopus is a non-profit organization committed to raising awareness about the challenges faced by octopuses in various environments. Through our efforts, we aim to highlight the importance of their conservation and advocate for better treatment in industries where they are commonly exploited. We strongly believe that by spreading knowledge and encouraging sustainable practices, we can create a brighter future for these magnificent beings.
In addition to education and awareness campaigns, Save the Octopus also works closely with restaurants to promote alternative menu options. By collaborating with chefs and offering delicious alternatives, we strive to reduce the demand for octopus in the culinary world and provide viable, ethical choices for consumers. Our goal is to facilitate a shift towards a more compassionate and sustainable approach to dining.

Save the Octopus firmly believes that everyone can make a difference. Whether you’re an individual looking to learn more about these incredible creatures or a restaurant owner interested in exploring alternative menu options, we welcome your support. Together, we can protect and preserve the octopus for generations to come. Join us in our mission to save the octopus and make a positive impact on the world we share!
