Octopus and squid have been important in the cultural traditions of many coastal communities around the world. In some cultures, they are considered a delicacy and are heavily harvested. Protecting these animals can help preserve cultural heritage.
Octopus and squid are fascinating creatures that have been the subject of much scientific research. They are incredibly intelligent & have complex nervous systems. Protecting these animals can provide valuable opportunities for further study and understanding.
Welcome to Save the Octopus.org! Our organization was founded by Isla Abrams as a dedicated high school student, but now continues her passion as a student at the University of Pittsburgh. Isla developed a deep concern for the well-being and treatment of octopuses after watching a thought-provoking documentary. Recognizing their incredible intelligence and emotional sensitivity, Isla felt compelled to take action and educate the public about the plight of these remarkable
creatures.
Save the Octopus is a registered non-profit organization committed to raising awareness about the challenges faced by octopuses in various environments. Through our efforts, we aim to highlight the importance of
their conservation and advocate for better treatment in industries where they are commonly exploited.
We strongly believe that by spreading knowledge and encouraging sustainable practices, we can create a brighter future for these magnificent beings.
